Fun Fact: I love to cook
My journey with Hip Hop began back in 2005 at a local studio in Queensland. I was lucky enough to land a spot in my dream crew from my very first audition, and from that moment on, I was hooked. I danced competitively for three years before relocating to Wollongong, NSW.

Although I taught locally, I struggled to find classes for myself that felt like the Hip Hop I had grown up with. So I started training in Sydney, where I joined a crew, connected with the dance community, and eventually travelled to the USA to dive even deeper into my passion.

When I returned, I began teaching at some incredible Sydney-based studios, including Sydney Dance Company, Caramell Dance Studio, and Ace Dance Studios. One day, while driving a friend to one of my classes, he groaned about the distance and said, "Why don’t you just start teaching in Wollongong?"
My response? “Because there isn’t any Hip Hop in Wollongong.” But that stuck with me. I got curious.

A few months later, I started a small Friday night class at the Balgownie Community Hall. What began as 9 students quickly grew to 20, then 70... and now? We’re home to around 350 incredibly skilled, passionate, and talented Hip Hoppers, raised right here in the Gong.

At Street Beatz, our teachers are more than just staff, we’re a team. Together, we’ve built more than a studio. We've created a thriving community full of confident dancers proud to be unique.
